10YRS EXPERIENCE- Dizzy's excellent reputation usually proceeds the introduction, but you haven't heard about her experience in wresting alligators yet...then you're welcome. Owner and founder, Dizzy has been tattooing for 11 years, and if you haven't been tattooed by her what are you doing on this newsletter list.....just kidding! But really she's a powerhouse of just about any style you give her and it's amazing to watch her work! Dizzy specializes in Nerdy Neo traditional tattoos, bold designs not designed for the weak of heart or spirit! Get past her stoic side and you'll see a goofball who just wants to talk about dinosaurs.  You got a reptile? Dizzy can and will wrestle 'em, boop 'em, n tattoo 'em. Get in her chair already and bring her a snack-she is hungry!

Owner/Artist-

 10YRS EXPERIENCE- Megan has been tattooing for 10 years and grew up in Phillipsburg. 5th Layer now stands in the spot that hosted Phillipsburgs first tattoo parlor, where Megan was working when Dizzy was hired and the rest is history. Appropriate aside for the resident history nerd! Megan specializes in a genre bending style referencing Japanese traditional, engraving and illustration. Portals and panels are a reoccurring theme in her work and a hobby is reworking old or faded tattoos with additions that bring them new life! Give her something old/nerdy to tattoo and her heart is ablaze!

Artist-

3YRS EXPERIENCE- Rebecca is the most senior member of the shop behind the owners, also hitting her 4th year at 5th layer in 2025! She is the first apprentice trained by Megan and Dizzy to make it to tattooing, and we couldn't be more excited about the artist she's become! We're sure you've met her before, but if you haven't gotten tattooed by her lately you are truly missing out. Rebecca's style can be best defined as Black n Grey illustrative featuring light and dark elements that lean into occult. Some of the things she enjoys tattooing the most come from nature or pop-culture (bring her a David Lynch anything and you'll see her heart jump out of her eyes)! Don't miss her excellent flash either!

Artist-

3YRS EXPERIENCE-Tina has been crushing it daily at 5th layer now  for 4 years. They were trained by our shop owners Dizzy and Megan. Now they have been tattooing 3 years and is a powerhouse when it comes to traditional style tattoos! If you're looking for that and a bundle of creativity, Tina is the artist for you! They have a deep of love for any American/European Traditional tattooing style that features queer themes or vintage reference! Which can be done in color, Black n Grey, or a mix of both. On top of their large store of original flash (believe three books and counting), they can create custom pieces with any references or ideas you've got floating around in your head. Give them a challenge and be marveled at the results!

Artist-

5YRS EXPERIENCE-Cami has been with 5th layer for two years now, around the time we took over the second floor of 7 Union. She specializes in Color Illustrative Anime and kawaii pop-culture tattoos, as well as color on all skin tones! (5th layer always offers free color tests for our melanated clients, call us and ask about it!) You'll often find her yapping away about YouTube deep dives. She has been tattooing for almost 5 years and is super interested in traveling and making new connections both by fellow artists and new clients! Apprentice Artist-

1YRS EXPERIENCE- Our newest tattooing member of the crew! She has been tattooing as an apprentice for one year, but has been a professional artist for more than a decade before joining us. Which is no surprise – she has already wowed all of us already. Her style is a blend of bold, graphic surrealism with gothic/horror motifs and a nod to old-world medieval engravings. Sarah's flash book is filled with amazing pre-drawns of people and creatures, both living and undead. Sarah is open to any challenge you might bring her (a reoccurring theme with our talented artists), the darker the theme, the better. Book with her through her insta or reach out to the shop directly!

Piercer-

Our newest member of the crew! Faye is what we call a Master Piercer in our industry. She has been piercing for over a decade, and her favorite thing to pierce is the septum! Faye joined the shop in August of 2024, and has been nothing but a force of information and hospitality to us and all the clients she comes in contact with! She is currently piercing by appointment Tuesday-Thursday and taking walk-ins on Friday and Saturday.
